Surrounding area: Stronachlachar lies only a short distance from the colourful and welcoming villages of Aberfoyle and Callander which offer a choice of pubs, restaurants, unique shops and a host of colourful festivals all year round. Between Aberfoyle and Callander is the Farm Life Centre - of appeal to children especially - where apart from a variety of animals, there are tractor rides and opportunities to make oatcakes and milk goats. The road from Aberfoyle to Callander becomes the Duke’s Pass and wends its way through the impressive 75,000-acre Queen Elizabeth Forest Park - the entirety of which takes in Loch Ard, Loch Achray and Loch Lubnaig, as well as Ben Venue, Ben A’an and Ben Ledi. The visitor centre offers a wealth of information on local flora and fauna and there are several forest walks to enjoy. To the west lies Inversnaid on the east shore of Loch Lomond where a seasonal ferry provides a crossing to the west shore. Pubs 4 miles.
